A memorial service in remembrance of the late Ivan Semwanga’s was yesterday held at his South African palatial home as friends and relatives bid farewell to the fallen hero as its a custom practiced mainly in the African communities.
Hundreds turned out and eulogised Ivan as a humble, kind, loving, caring and a cheerful giver. His sons and ex-wife Zari were also present.
The mother of five sobbed uncontrollably when the remains of Ivan were brought to his posh South African home. Zari was close to Ivan and she was there for him during his sickness until he breathed his last earlier this week in Pretoria.
The body was later taken to St. Peters Church in Pretoria for a requiem mass. Ivan’s body is expected to arrive in Uganda today aboard South Africa Airways flight.
